COVID-19

LCIS is dedicated to maintaining safe and appropriate means of community participation for all staff and clients we serve.  Below is an evolving list of precautions and safety measures staff will be required to maintain within each phase of county restrictions determined by the county, ODP and our own administrative team.

 

Please note that restrictions and safety precautions within the green phase will remain in place until LCIS has gathered enough information from the CDC, ODP and other providing agencies to indicate that it is safe to provide services in a fully functional capacity.

Green Phase

 Masks:

  • Staff:  masks will be provided to staff to be used when transporting client’s and for within community locations still requiring facemasks to be worn within their premises.

  • Clients:  All client’s are asked to provide and bring their own mask each day of program to be worn within staff vehicles and within any community location who require masks to be worn to participate within their location.

Gloves

  • Staff:  All staff will be provided gloves should they choose to wear them for specific activities or throughout the day; gloves will be required when taking temperatures of clients, when assisting a client with any personal belongings and/ or food.

  • In-home and Com. Support Staff:  All staff will wear gloves at all times when within an individual’s home and when taking temperatures or assisting with personal belongings and/or food when in the community.

  • Clients:  Clients participating within our CPS programs will have the option of wearing gloves when needed which will be provided by LCIS.

    Those client’s who receive services at home should have their own gloves available should they plan to wear them, but this is not a requirement for services during the green phase and within the home.

 

Vehicles

  • Staff will be provided with cleaning materials such as Lysol spray and wipes, as well as paper towels and garbage bags for any discarded masks or gloves.

    Vehicles are to be wiped down before client’s enter the vehicle when first picked up and after they exit the vehicle at any activity.  The vehicle should also be wiped down at the end of the day once the client returns home.

  • Staff and clients are required to wear masks when in the vehicle together.

 

Center

  • Center capacity will be limited to one group of 3 individuals permitted to use the center at the same time (this includes the 3 individuals and then the staff needed to maintain ratios)

  • The center will be sanitized each morning including, but not limited to, carpets in the rooms approved for use, the restroom, door handles/ knobs, light switches and any tables and chairs/couches being offered for use.

  • The main activity area and the lounge/ tv room will be the only rooms available to clients and staff.

  • No meals or snacks are to be prepared within the center; however, staff and clients are permitted to bring and eat food within the center.

  • Masks are to be worn within the center at all times.

 

Daily Operations

  • When we first transition into the green phase, hours and days will be limited and will increase for each individual slowly.

  • Hubs within the community are to be used as much as possible in place of the center to allow individuals to stay local/ within their home community and to limit interactions within the center.

  • Groups will be based on ratio needs and individuals who are geographically close to one another to again limit exposure and limit locations of community engagement.

  • Staff and groups will remain the same for each outing to limit exposure to individuals and staff.

 

Health Screenings

  • Staff will take temperatures of clients prior to leaving the client’s home, before they enter the staff vehicle.

  • Screening questions will be asked every day an individual is picked up from their home

 

Yellow Phase

Masks

  • Staff:  masks will be provided to staff to be used at all times when with a client whether transporting or providing services within the home or within the community

  • Clients:  All client’s are asked to provide and bring their own mask each day of program to be worn at all times they are present with staff whether during transportation, when someone is within their home or within the community.

Gloves

  • Staff:  All staff will be provided gloves which are to be worn within a client’s home, within their vehicles and within the community when with a client.  If staff changes location of services, gloves are to be changed as well (home/car/community).

  • Clients:  Clients will be asked to wear gloves when in a staff members vehicle and when out in the community.  Gloves are to be changed when the location of the service changes (car/ community).  Clients are not required to wear gloves within their own home.

Vehicles

  • Staff will be provided with cleaning materials such as Lysol spray and wipes, as well as paper towels and garbage bags for any discarded masks or gloves.

  • Staff will also be given seat covers for easier cleaning ability and to protect their seats from daily cleaning.  The seats should be sanitized as specified above and then washed with laundry soap at the end of the week on Friday.

  • Staff and clients are required to wear masks and gloves when in the vehicle together.

  • Plastic particians may be placed in the vehicle as well to prevent further exposure

Center

  • The center will be mandated to close by ODP and the state of PA when in the yellow phase.

 

Daily operations

  • When we first transition into the yellow phase, hours and days will be limited and will increase for each individual slowly.

  • Time within the community will be limited and only certain locations will be available.  Most of the day will be spent at home and within community parks.

  • The same groups will be available as was in the green phase; however, all participants will need to wear masks and gloves for the duration of the CPS time and within the staff vehicles.

  • Staff and groups will remain the same for each outing to limit exposure to individuals and staff.

Health Screenings

  • Staff will take temperatures of clients prior to leaving the client’s home, before they enter the staff vehicle; or, prior to starting a shift within a client’s home.  If a client is receiving In-home services, the temperature of any other individual within the home, must also be taken.

  • Screening questions will be asked every day an individual is picked up from their home

 

Red Phase

Please note that services within the home will only be provided based on emergency need and the availability of healthy staff.

 

Masks

  • All staff and clients are to wear masks at all times; we ask that if a family member is also present in the home, that they also wear a mask.

 

Gloves

  • All staff and clients are asked to wear gloves at all times to prevent contamination when working together.

 

Vehicles

  • Staff and clients will be required to remain at the client’s home.  No activities within the community (out of the home/ the property of the individual) will be permitted).

 

Center

  • The center will be mandated to close by ODP and the state of PA when in the Red phase.

 

Daily operations

  • Staff are to clean their vehicles upon arrival at their own home following a shift within a client’s home.

  • It is recommended that a space be designated within a staff members home for removal of all clothing worn when providing services within a client’s home prior to entering the remainder of their own home.

  • Seat covers provided by LCIS should be washed, at minimum, weekly with laundry soap.

  • At minimum, staff should wash their hands thoroughly, following the guidelines suggested on the CDC website., when leaving a client’s home and upon arrival at their own home.

 

Health Screenings

  • Staff will take temperatures of clients prior to leaving the client’s home, before they enter the staff vehicle; or, prior to starting a shift within a client’s home.  If a client is receiving In-home services, the temperature of any other individual within the home, must also be taken.

  • Screening questions will be asked every day an individual receives services within their home.
