DSP- Direct Support Professional

Multiple shifts available: 9am-12pm; 1pm-4pm; 9am-3pm

Location: Multiple sites in Montgomery and Chester Counties

 

LCIS is in the search for adaptable staff for multiple locations within Montgomery and Chester Counties.  Many day programs are learning how to adapt to the new issues brought on due to Covid-19.  We are in the need of staff who can perform the following responsibilities depending on what the state is requiring of our program:

  • Community Participation Supports (picking up clients and meeting within the community)
  • In-home and Community Supports  (providing services within the home and in the community)
  • Virtual Day Programming (remotely providing lessons for up to 3 clients through Zoom)

Your community location will be based on those clients who are closest to your home location to help with transportation.

 

Staff will need the following:

  • Reliable transportation to transport clients between home and community locations
  • Reliable internet access, computer with webcam capabilities

 

Staff Responsibilities will Include (always subject to change):

Community Participation Supports (our main service when no community restrictions are required)

  • Picking up clients (1-3 individuals at a time) from their home and meeting at a designated community location
  • Assist clients in community participation at the level each individual needs to be successful
  • Maintain positive community relationships with local businesses and community members
  • Complete service notes and progress notes daily
  • Possible- 1 Saturday a month
  • Attend bi-monthly staff trainings (in-person)
  • Attend monthly staff meetings (Zoom sessions)

 

In-home and Community Supports (our next level of support if in the yellow phase of social restrictions)

  • Start services within the home working on daily living skills (assist client with cooking and/ or cleaning)
  • Possible community outings (depending on quarantine levels)
  • Complete service notes and progress notes daily
  • Attend bi-monthly staff trainings (in-person)
  • Attend monthly staff meetings (Zoom sessions)

 

Virtual DSP (our level of support offered when in the red phase of social restrictions)

  • Providing zoom sessions through a lesson format
  • Group lesson plan with a team for the month
  • Individualize lessons by lesson planning to your own style of instruction
  • Utilize prep time to create lessons for the following week
  • Build and maintain community partnerships to create Community “Spotlights” in our Zoom sessions
  • Complete service notes and progress notes each session
  • Attend bi-monthly staff trainings via Zoom
  • Attend weekly staff meetings via Zoom

 

Volunteering

We would love to see community members become a part of our family at Jessie’s House.  Some ways you can take part:

  • participating in activities within our center
  • assisting on our date nights and parent support group nights
  • assist in setting up and taking down equipment for our community events
  • we are also looking for anyone who is willing to make donations to our date night    dinners and also equipment needed for special events such as mics and speaker systems.

 

Internships

We will be offering internship opportunities with participating colleges/ universities.  This is a great way for students in human services or education fields to gain an incredible experience.  It was through her college participation hours that Jessie first decided what path she wanted for her career and life to take!

 

* Note:  All individuals volunteering or interning will need full background checks (criminal, FBI, and child abuse clearances) in order to apply.  Jessie’s House does not complete background checks for you.
